Wyatt's First Bus Ride!!

Wyatt wanted to take a picture after he was off the bus.

Walking home from the bus stop.

Wyatt has been so excited to ride the bus to school.  He wanted to ride the bus to school this morning but we wanted to drive him in the morning to make sure that everything went well.  We hadn't met his new teacher yet and wanted to make sure that he got to the right class.  Wyatt was able to ride the bus home from school though.  At first he was nervous when we talked to him about it this morning.  We told him that he would have people to help him out.  The principal of the elementary school rides home on the bus with just the kindergartner's in it to make sure they get off on the right stop and get with their parents.  The principal rides on the bus with the kindergartener's for the whole first week of school.  It is pretty cool that he does that.  They are very on top of it and they take very good care of the kindergartener's.  They make sure to show them where they go.  Once Wyatt got off the bus he was very excited and gave me a big hug.  He had a wonderful first day of school.  He even had a blast riding on the bus.  He can't wait to ride the bus to school in the morning.  At school today the had recess, had round cereal for snacks, sat at different tables with different colors on them, had to find their name and hang up their backpacks (his table had the color yellow and had to go last), went over some of the rules in the class room, he told me a story that they went over but I can't remember which one, etc.

Today was Wyatt's first day of kindergarten.  He had such a great time off during the summer he wasn't quite sure if he was ready to start school.  Origanally Wyatt was in the am class, got bumbed to the pm class, then was luckily put back into the morning class. All of his friends from the neighborhood go to kindergarten in the morning.  The last couple of days Wyatt got really excited to go to school.  We got him a new pair of shoes, he had his backpack ready, he wore a new shirt that he got for his birthday that was for school, etc.  It went pretty smoothly this morning.  We drove Wyatt to school in the morning to meet his new teacher.  We watched all of the other kindergarten kids get off the school bus.  The Principal of the school walked the kids from the bus over to the playground area.  They got to play for 10 minutes or so.  They then got lined up to go into their classroom and off they went.  We got to say bye before he went in.  It went very well.  Doug gave Wyatt a blessing last night.  We weren't sad this morning.  It was a bitter sweet moment today.  We finally have a kindergartener.  It is just crazy how time flies by so quickly.

Yellow Belt!!

Wyatt had to get some help from his sensei to put on his new yellow belt.

Wyatt went in today to test out to get his yellow belt.  We weren't allowed to stay to watch the test but we were able to come back and watch the ceremony.  The students that were testing out for a higher belt all had to keep their eyes closed.  The sensei put down their certificate and advancing belt in front of them.  They then opened their eyes and put on their new color of belt.  Wyatt is so excited.  He has been waiting almost a month to do his test to get his yellow belt.  He has done such a great job in karate.

Heber Valley Railroad Train Ride!!

The train conductor.

The train robbers.

On Friday, we went up to Heber City and went on a train ride on the Heber Valley Railroad for a fun family activity before Wyatt went to school next week.  It was so much fun.  It was a 2 hour train ride.  We even had some train robbers make an appearance which was fun.  It was a great outing for the day.

Highland Splash Pad!!

He was dipping his head into the water just before this picture.

Posing for the camera.

Laying in the water.  He was yelling something like "that's what I'm talking about baby" or "that's what it feels like baby".  I don't remember exactly.  He is so goofy at times.

He likes to hit the water at times.

I took Wyatt up to the Higland Splash Pad today just for something fun to do and because we actually had the time to go today.  Wyatt loves playing in the water.

Alpine Splash Pad!!

Posing for the camera.

Waiting for the bucket to dump water.

Kell and Jake checking out the water damage!!

Kell and Jake.  Jake managed to get pretty wet actually.

A couple of weekends ago, Wyatt and I met up with my sister (Kelleen) and her husband (Jake) and went out to luch.  We had taken Wyatt's swim suit with us because we were going to go to the Highland splash pad but my sister told us about this park and splash pad that is close to their home in Alpine.  It was really fun.  Wyatt of course started to play at the park but we quickly convinced him to get changed and to play in the water because it was a very hot day.  Jake decided to get in the water action as well.  He got Wyatt under the water bucket to get him wet.  Jake then let Wyatt and another little girl spray him with some of the water guns.  He tried to spray them back with the yellow tall water gun type thing but went around in circles mainly.  It was a fun park and splash pad.  Wyatt wants to go back soon.

Wyatt and his Karate!!

Wyatt has been in karate for 7 or 8 weeks now.  He was student of the week for the second time last week.  He has been doing so awesome.  He loves going to karate and never wants to miss a day.  He is ready to get his yellow belt already.  He has been ready for about 3 weeks now but they only test out for your next belt up one time a month on a Saturday and he barely missed the test date in July.  So now we are just waiting for his test to get his yellow belt.  He earned it very quickly.  He is already learning some of the moves to work on his orange belt.  So fun and exciting.
