Wyatt Fishing in American Fork Canyon!!

On the 24th of July we went for a hike up in American Fork Canyon.  We also let Wyatt try to do some fishing.  He was so excited to give it a shot.  We found a little stream or creek and found a couple of great spots for him to try out.  It was later in the afternoon so we didn't get any fish but Wyatt had a great time fishing on his own.  He was a bit disappointed when the hook broke off the line when it got stuck.  But it was still a fun activity to do together.

24th of July Hike in American Fork Canyon!!

On the 24th of July we decided to go for a hike up in American Fork Canyon.  We saw a bunch of beautiful flowers, different colored butterflies, and a variety of birds on our hike.  We even saw a blue bird which looked like a blue jay which was really cool.  It was a fun family activity!!

Splash Pad!!

Here is a video of Wyatt and his friend Justin Clark running through the splash pad one day this summer.  We hadn't gone up to the Highland splash pad in so long so it was really fun to go.  We have gone up a few times so far this summer now.  This day we went with a few of our neighborhood friends.  We had a great time and even went to lunch afterwards.  What a fun day!!

Here is Wyatt and Justin running through the splash pad.

Here is a picture of all of the friends that Wyatt played with at the splash pad.

Summer Fun at Nolan Park!!

Here is a video of Doug and Wyatt going on one of the slip 'n slides.  This is a longer slip 'n slide.  They had one that was shorter but Wyatt didn't want to try it out because it was kind of muddy at the end.  It was fun and fast.  They had a great time.  Sorry it is sideways.  It is the way it downloaded from my phone.

Here is a video of the firefighters spraying everyone with the fire truck.  They had hooked the sprayer up with a hose attached to a fire hydrant so it was spraying water like crazy.  It was fun though.

Earlier this week Eagle Mountain City held a Beat the Heat Bonanza to say thank you to the firefighters and citezens of the city for helping out with the fire that was close to us a while back.  The city held a fun water activity day.  We had no idea it was going on until one of my neighbors texted me about it.  It was really fun.  They had slip 'n slides, inflatable toys with water on them for kids to slide down, and the city fire truck was there.  The firefighters hooked up their hose to a fire hydrant and sprayed water from one of the nosels on the truck to spray everyone.  That was really cool to see.  The firefighters were trying to spray as many people as they could.  All of the kids and adults had fun getting sprayed.  It was a great way to cool off.

Karate Student of the Week!!

Wyatt started his third week of Karate today.  He has had a total of 6 classes in the last 2 weeks.  Today he became the student of the week and got the red and black belt to wear all week.  The sensi said that Wyatt is still very new and was the student of the week this week.  Wyatt told me on Saturday that he wanted to be the student of the week.  I told him that he had to do his best and listen to his teacher to be the student of the week and he got it at the begining of his class tonight.  It was really neat.  He wants to keep the red belt forever but we told him he gets to wear it all week to all of his karate classes and if he keeps doing really well, maybe he could get it again.  We are so proud of Wyatt.  He is doing awesome in karate and learning so much very quickly.

Boating!!

We finally took the boat out onto Utah Lake over the weekend.  We saw some ducks swimming around while we were there.  It was a fun trip just to take the boat out for a bit.  We also were able to tow another boat into the dock area.  There boat died and they were about to paddle their way in but we got there just in time.  Wyatt said that we rescued them.  It was a fun day out.

Summer Fun!!

Here is a picture of Wyatt testing out his new goggles that he got for his birthday.  He was over at his friend Justin's house playing on their slip 'n slide.  He had told Hillary that he didn't want to get his new goggles wet.  She had told him good luck with that.  I am glad  that he is giving the goggles a test run.

This is a picture of Wyatt and some of his friends.  Justin and Fisher on on the end.  The two kids in the middle are the Willis's who live behind Hillary.  They had a fun day in the water.  Notice that Wyatt still has his goggles on top of his head.
