This is the splint that the doctor put on Wyatt's finger. It kept falling off though.
This is Wyatt's swollen, bruised finger. It was pretty swollen. Luckily the swelling went down but his finger is still pretty bruised.
His finger was a bit bruised underneath but it is kind of hard to see.
We had to go back to the doctor the next morning because his splint kept on falling off. This is a picture of his splint all bandaged up so it would stay on and not fall off. We keep this tape stuff on him while he is outside playing. Otherwise we take it off while he is inside and keep the metal and foam splint on so he won't move his finger. We have to do this for 3 to 4 weeks. It is going to be crazy.
Another picture of his finger bandaged up.
Well Wyatt has his first broken bone. He was jumping on the tramp today with his friends. I heard him start to cry. He said that he hurt his finger. When I first looked at it, it looked okay. It wasn't red or swollen. A few hours later his finger was swollen and pretty bruised. I hadn't seen the swelling or the bruising all day. He was outside playing most of the afternoon. We decided to take him to the after hours pediatrician. They put a splint on his finger and sent us to get an X-Ray done. Needless to say it is fractured and is going to take at least 3 to 4 weeks to heal. Poor kid. After he hurt it on the tramp he hadn't said anything about his finger hurting. He continued to play for the rest of the day. Before we went to the doctor he wanted to go outside to play tennis but we told him we better wait. This may be a long 3 to 4 weeks. He is going to be wearing a splint until close to his birthday.
